Evo Security Joins Barracuda

Identity has become the primary battleground in cybersecurity. Attackers increasingly use stolen credentials to walk through the front door, and AI is accelerating the speed and scale of those attacks. The organizations most exposed are often the ones least equipped to defend themselves: the small and mid-sized businesses that rely on managed service providers to keep them secure.
That's why milestones like this matter.
We're proud to share that Evo Security, a TechOperators portfolio company, has been acquired by Barracuda Networks, a global leader in cyber resilience. Evo's identity and access management technology will be embedded into the BarracudaONE platform, extending it to hundreds of thousands of MSPs and the customers they protect worldwide.
Evo's vision from the start was clear and, at the time, contrarian:
Build identity and access management from the ground up for how MSPs actually operate.
Enterprise identity platforms are complex, expensive, and built for a single organization's IT team. MSPs live in a fundamentally different world: thousands of customer environments, millions of identities, and access requests that never stop. Evo built privileged access management, secure authentication, and automated elevation designed specifically for that reality — multi-tenant, partner-first, and operationally simple.
The significance reaches beyond the Evo team. It signals that identity-first, partner-native security is becoming foundational to how the channel defends the mid-market.
Why MSP-First Identity Matters
The numbers tell the story. Roughly half of all MSP help desk tickets are access-related. Stolen-credential attacks continue to climb year over year. And standing privileges — the admin access attackers target first — remain one of the most exploited gaps in the SMB and mid-market.
Traditional IAM was built for a single enterprise IT team, and securing identity across a large MSP's book of business demands a different architecture entirely:
Just-in-time privileged access that eliminates standing admin rights, making elevated access temporary, audited, and automatically revoked
Automated privilege elevation that approves routine requests and blocks suspicious ones based on context and behavior
Multi-tenant by design, so a partner can manage identity consistently across every customer from a single environment
Evo built these capabilities into a product MSPs could actually deploy and operate. Inside BarracudaONE — alongside ZTNA, identity protection, and managed XDR — those capabilities now reach a global partner base and become part of a complete, identity-driven resilience stack.
A Congratulations, and a Look Ahead
Congratulations to Michael Roth and the entire Evo Security team on building technology and a category the market clearly needed. We backed Evo early and led its Series A because we believed the channel deserved identity security built for the way it truly works. Watching that conviction reach global scale through Barracuda is exactly the outcome we hope for when we partner with technical founders early.
Identity has become the front door to nearly every business, and the partners defending millions of those businesses need tools built to secure it. Evo built one of them, and its reach just expanded dramatically.
Congratulations to the entire team.
